Tanner Holmes Wins Round 3 Of Speedweek Northwest At SSP

Banks, Oregon- After taking Sunday off, the Western Sprint Tour resumed Speedweek Northwest 2022 on Monday, July 25th. The series visited Sunset Speedway Park for its third race of the series. The Banks Bullring attracted teams from the states of Oregon, Washington, California, and Idaho, as well as the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta.
When the main event started, Logan Forler was the initial race leader. Unfortunately, the Boise, Idaho racer would have to give the top spot back as an incident occurred before the first lap could be completed. On the second attempt, Tanner Holmes from Jacksonville pounced out to P1.
A long twenty-lap green flag run would develop, resulting in heavy lapped traffic coming into the mix. Despite navigating through the field's tail end, Holmes mastered the ΒΌ-mile oval and created a massive lead. But unfortunately, his hard work would be erased when the second and final yellow flag appeared with ten laps to go.
On the final restart, Tanner Holmes had no issues whatsoever. He went on to win the main event and earn his first career Speedweek Northwest victory.
He is the sixth different driver to win a Speedweek race at SSP.
Logan Forler was a respectable second, while placing third was Justin Sanders, from Aromas, California, in the Mittry Motorsports-fielded entry. Coaldale, Alberta, Canada chauffeur Kelly Miller was fourth in the finishing order, with fifth going to Jesse Schlotfeldt of Arlington, Washington.
