Joey Tanner Wins Third NELMS Race Of 2015 At SSP Driver Appreciation Night

The Northwest Extreme Late Model Series was back in action on Saturday August 8th at Sunset Speedway Park after a bit of time off. The series was last in action at Cottage Grove Speedway in early July due to their last scheduled stop at SSP being canceled because of weather on July 25th. A total of ten cars would be in attendance for the “Banks Bullring's” Driver Appreciation Night representing the states of Oregon and Washington.
Portland's Joey Tanner would put on a dominating performance in the main event. Driving once again for Dave Walters he would leave just one other car on the lead lap after putting several cars a lap down. Tanner would maintain the sought after position the entire race to win his third race of the season and the second he has done so for the All-In Investment Properties/X-Factor Race Cars/Warpaint Motorsports Graphix/Joey Tanner Racing #67 Rayburn team owned by Walters.
Banks standout Greg Walters was second in his T&G Trucking/Schram Brothers Excavating/American Landscaping/Duncan Automotive #97 Victory Circle while the Central Oregon Trucking/Driving Force Graphics/W.W. Trailers/Ohlins By JDR #31B Rocket driven by Ron Brewster of Redmond would get third. Completing the top five was Xtreme Motorsports #36 Victory Circle of Jody Tanner from Portland in fourth and fifth place went to Brush Prairie, Washington's John Gamell in his Food Express Inc./Qwikline Industrial Products/Barella Underground Utilities & Excavating/FinishLine Graphics #88 MasterSbilt. No heats or dashes were ran but Battle Ground, Washington veteran Sonny Modaff was fastest in time trials in the Freight West Global/Xtreme Motorsports/T-Mac Performance/The Chop Shop #8X MasterSbilt.
The Northwest Extreme Late Model Series will be back at Sunset Speedway Park on Saturday August 22nd for their final race in the state of Oregon before heading to the Central Washington State Fair Raceway in late September to wrap up the 2015 campaign.
