Sunset Speedway Park Ready For Race #7 Of The Season

Banks, Oregon- This Saturday June 8th the Sunset Speedway Park returns to racing action. A great collection of classes will be in competition at the Banks bullring. These include the Northwest Extreme Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, Midgets, and 4-Bee’s. For the Modifieds it will be the first leg of the two race IMCA Modified Madness mini-series.
“We’re looking for another great night of action and a big field of cars,” commented Charlie Weaver, Race Director at Sunset Speedway Park, “we’ve had some very good racing all year long and we look for that to continue on Saturday night. It’s great that the IMCA Modifieds are going to be back in town they put on some good shows.”
The Northwest Extreme Sprints have run twice this year and the same winner has emerged each time, hot shoe Mitch Hoffses. The IMCA Modifieds will make the return to SSP since their last visit in late April. There have been two races with two different winners. Kenny Miller won the first one and Jeremy Martin earned the triumph in the latest installment.
The 4-Bee’s return to action after a week off. In four complete events Mike Mastrangelo has won the last three in a row. In fact those are the only three races he has made this year. Jason Blythe managed to win the first race in the division back in April and is the only other winner in the class. The Midgets will make their 2013 debut at the ¼-mile clay oval for what should be a very exciting show.
For Saturday’s action the front gates open up at 3:30 PM with racing scheduled to start at 6:00 PM. Admission is Adults $13.00, Seniors/Military $10.00, Children (6-12) $5.00, Children (5 and Under) FREE, and Family Pack (Two Adults and Two Children) $30.00.
The Sunset Speedway Park is located just west of the Portland metro area in Banks on the Sunset Highway. From April until October you can get your racing fix at this facility which competes weekly primarily on Saturday nights. Regular classes in action include the NW Extreme Winged Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, 4-Bee’s, NW Extreme Modifieds, and the Womens division.
