Sunset Speedway Park Back In The Fray Saturday After Week Off

Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park will be back in action on Saturday September 7th after a week off. The excitement returns to the “Banks Bullring” with the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series, Northwest Extreme Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, and WRS Late Model Lites. In addition to the aforementioned division the Pure Stock will compete in an exhibition race. If you’re looking to get your racing fix Sunset Speedway Park is the place to be.
Currently Greg Walters is on a hot streak with the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series after sweeping the Harbor Classic Weekend at Grays Harbor Raceway last Saturday and Sunday. Walters leads the series with seven triumphs while Collen Winebarger has five and Jerry Schram just one.
Mitch Hoffses continues to lead the Northwest Extreme Sprint win list with his three victories. Ryan Bothwell and Jake Gilman have one triumph apiece this season too. The IMCA Modifieds have yet to see a repeat winner in 2013 as the win list includes Rob Ireland, Doug Lockwood, Kenny Miller, Chris Hallberg, Jeremy Martin, Jerry Schram, Mark Carrell, and Jesse Williamson.
On Saturday front gates open up at 3:30 PM with racing scheduled to start at 6:00 PM. Admission is Adults $13.00, Seniors/Military $10.00, Children (6-12) $5.00, Children (5 and Under) FREE, and Family Pack (Two Adults and Two Children) $30.00.
The Sunset Speedway Park is located just west of the Portland metro area in Banks on the Sunset Highway. From April until October you can get your racing fix at this facility which competes weekly primarily on Saturday nights. Regular classes in action include the NW Extreme Winged Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, 4-Bee’s, NW Extreme Modifieds, and the Womens division.
