ASCS-Northwest Region Returns To The Banks Bullring On Saturday August 9th

Banks, Oregon- The American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region will make their annual visit to Sunset Speedway Park on Saturday August 9th. It will be the second of two legs as the series will visit Willamette Speedway on Friday night. This weekend will mark the final races of ASCS-Northwest Region in the state of Oregon for 2014. In 2013 the ¼-mile clay oval would host a pretty entertaining race and hopefully this year will be just as good if not better.
Tickets are Adults $15.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $13.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $8.00, Children under the age of 5 are FREE, and Pit Passes will be $30.00. Racing is scheduled to get underway around 6:00 PM.
There have been four ASCS-Northwest Region events held at Sunset Speedway Park since 2008. Roger Crockett has three wins while Kyle Hirst has one. Currently this year there have been twelve races producing nine different winners with the ASCS-Northwest Region. Speedweek Northwest champion Kyle Hirst is on top of the win column in 2014 with three while Seth Bergman has two. Drivers to win once with the series this season include Logan Forler, Colin Baker, J.J. Hickle, Jared Peterson, Henry Van Dam, Andy Forsberg, and Rico Abreu.
Colin Baker enters the weekend with a fifty-seven point lead over Kyle Hirst.with Baker in search of his first career championship. After this weekend only two races remain in the current campaign with the year once again coming to a close at Central Washington State Fair Raceway in Yakima, Washington in late September.
