Greg Walters Collects NELMS Win #9 At SSP

The Northwest Extreme Late Model Series would pay their final 2014 visit to Sunset Speedway Park on Saturday August 23rd. A packed house would be in attendance as the “Banks Bullring” would host their first ever Driver Appreciation night.
Sonny Modaff would be the early race leader in the main event. The Battle Ground, Washington native would keep his DCM Trucking/Xtreme Motorsports/T-Mac Performance #8X MasterSbilt out in front before being passed on lap seven. The driver to overtake him would be Greg Walters of Banks. Walters would show the way for the rest of the distance to capture his ninth series win of 2014 and the seventh time that the T&G Trucking/Schram Brothers Excavating/American Landscaping/Duncan Automotive #97 Victory Circle has visited the winner’s circle at SSP.
The Reser's Fine Foods/Wayne Martin Floor Covering/Competitive Edge Sign & Design #99 MasterSbilt of Brad Martin out of Warren was the runner-up while in third would be Gresham’s Jason Johnson in third in his Jackhammer Trucking/T&G Trucking #76 Rayburn. Crossing the wire in fourth was the Schram Brothers Excavating #51 MasterSbilt of Robert Duncan from Banks and Kristi Somers of Woodland, Washington was fifth in her Somers Racing Engines #18 entry.
Making it a complete sweep of the evening’s events Greg Walters set fast time and won the trophy dash. The Northwest Extreme Late Model Series has two legs left in the 2014 season with both events taking place at the Central Washington State Fair Raceway in Yakima, Washington on Friday September 19th and Saturday the 20th.
