Dave Walters Enters Spring Challenge Presented By 98.7 The Bull As NELMS Point Leader

Banks, Oregon- One driver really looking forward to taking on the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series this weekend is Dave Walters. Walters, now living in Boring, enters the Spring Challenge presented by 98.7 The Bull as the series point leader. The Late Models will tackle Sunset Speedway Park on Saturday May 23rd and Sunday the 24th.
Walters has driven his All-In Property Investments/X-Factor Race Cars/Warpaint Motorsports Graphix #67 MasterSbilt once this year, which resulted in a eleventh place finish and seventh among the crate cars, at Cottage Grove on May 9th. The first race of the season on April 25th he had Joey Tanner drive his car and since points are awarded to the car and the driver that is how Walters is a top the standings. In his first race at CGS Walters was very fast in the early stages even leading for several laps.
“The car was really fast and it was great to be leading,” stated Walters, “but unfortunately we broke a lower control arm during the main and faded.”
In 2014 Dave would put up some great finishes at Sunset including two top fives. His best finish was a third on August 2nd. He looks forward to this weekend with hopes of retaining the point lead.
“This weekend being a two-day race we should do really well,” he continued, “I really want to keep that points lead because I have the vision that we can win the championship this year.”
Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and racing starts at 6:30 each night. Tickets for both events are Adults $13.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-18) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a family pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
