Greg Walters Wins Third Straight Baseline Pawn Firecracker 100 At Sunset Speedway Park

The Northwest Extreme Late Model Series would be in the house at Sunset Speedway Park on Independence Day, Saturday July 4th. Competing in the annual Firecracker 100 presented by Baseline Pawn the fans would be in for a treat with a one-hundred lap feature contest for the big race.
Joey Tanner was ultra quick in his father's, Jody, car. Tanner was the trailblazer for the first half of the race in the Xtreme Motorsports #36 Victory Circle. Constructing a massive lead it unfortunately would completely be evaporated due to a caution.
On his rear bumper was Banks native Greg Walters. Walters, in his T&G Trucking/Schram Brothers Excavating/American Landscaping/Duncan Automotive #97 Victory Circle, would overtake Tanner and cruise on to the main event win for the second consecutive time this year and the third straight time for the Firecracker 100.
Joey Tanner of Portland was second followed by the Central Oregon Trucking/Driving Force Graphics/W.W. Trailers #31B Rocket of Ron Brewster from Redmond in third. Brush Prairie, Washington's John Gamell finished fourth in his Food Express Inc./Qwikline Industrial Products #88 MasterSbilt while Phillip Johnson, of Gresham, managed to complete the top five in fifth driving the T&G Trucking/Jackhammer Trucking/Pagel Towing #79 Rayburn.
The Northwest Extreme Late Model Series returns to Cottage Grove Speedway for two nights of racing starting with Friday July 10th and concluding on Saturday the 11th. Admission prices both nights are Adults $13.00, Juniors/Seniors/Military $10.00, Youths (Ages 6-12) $5.00, and 5 & Under FREE. Times for each race are Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Qualifying 5:30, and Racing begins right around 6:45.
