Saturday June 3rd Bud Light Iron Man 100 Next For SSP

Banks, Oregon- Saturday, June 3rd, will see the return of the Bug Light Iron Man 100 at Sunset Speedway Park. It is the biggest Pure Stock race of 2017 at the “Banks Bullring” and will be a marathon of a race where too much aggression could where you out too early and sitting back and getting too comfortable will also derail your strategy. Other divisions on the card include IMCA Sport Mods, Dwarf Cars, 4-Bees, and the New Bees.
Larry Brookshire and Rob Ferree are the two winners of the current season in the Pure Stock ranks. John Henry won the inaugural race in 2015 while Joey Tardio managed to best the field last year. Saturday night will mark the first time the IMCA Sport Mods have taken to the track on the ¼-mile clay oval.
In the Dwarf Cars it’s been all about Ryan Martinez as he is a perfect three for three including sweeping last weekend’s Spring Challenge. Bob Berg and Corey Watts have visited victory lane one occasion each in the 4-Bee’s while Travis Zimmerly is the lone New Bee main event winner.
Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Time Trials begin at 5:30, with Racing kicking off at 6:30. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (6-12) $5.00, and Children (5 and Under) are FREE.
