Brian Cooper Wins Sport Mod Feature At SSP

Banks, Oregon- With the Wild West Modified Shootout in town the support class at Sunset Speedway Park would be the IMCA Sport Mods. The Wednesday, June 28th, event had ten Sport Mods fill the pits which is the most the ¼-mile clay oval has had so far this year. Cars from Oregon, Washington, and California would make up the field.
Brian Cooper grabbed the lead right off of the bat. Cooper, from Yuba City, California, would remain in the position the rest of the way despite a late race yellow coming out. It would be his second win in less than a week after obtaining one at Southern Oregon Speedway.
Yuba City drivers would cap off the rest of the top three with second place Jimmy Ford and Todd Cooper in third. Tim Elias, out of Chowchilla, California, was fourth followed by Springfield’s Jayson Nelson.
Sunset Speedway Park will be hosting the Monster Truck Mania on Saturday, July 1st and Sunday, the 2nd. In addition to Monster Trucks the Bridgeport Logistics Street Stocks will be the support class.
Tickets for the Monster Truck shows are $17.00 for Adults, $13.00 for Senior/Military/Youths, 5 or under FREE, and a Family Pass (2 Adults and up to 4 Youth) $60.00. Saturday night gates open around 4:00 PM and action will begin at 6:30 PM while Sunday gates open at Noon and everything kicks off around 2:00. SUNDAY WILL BE OFFERING A SPECIAL TWO FOR $20.00 WHICH MEANS TWO ADULTS GET IN FOR JUST $20.00! Premium Seating is also available for $35.00 each.
