Yeack, Little, Maltais, And Batalgia Collect July 8th SSP Victories

Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park would host the 19th Annual Jim’s Thriftway Open Street Stock National 100 on Saturday, July 8th, 2017. It would be the biggest race of the 2017 season for the Bridgeport Logistics Street Stocks. The New Bees and both Micro Sprint division were also in action.
Despite getting collected in an incident earlier in the feature and having to go to the back it would not obstruct Kyle Yeack’s path to victory lane. Yeack would work his way to the front with a few laps to spare just in enough time to seize the lead in the final laps. It would be the second occasion that he has won the event and he is the first repeat winner in the last five years.
Defending Jim’s 100 winner Arnie Case was second over third finishing Joey Tardio. Andrew Langan ended his evening in fourth followed by Justen Case, in fifth. In the New Bees Kaylee Batalgia would best the field with Cassidy Jackson the runner-up.
Jeff Little would collect his first win of the campaign in the 600cc Micro Open division. Paul Cegnic was the second place finisher over David Ward, in third. In the 600cc Micro Restricted class Braden Maltais made a trip to victory lane for the second time in 2017. Becca Clark was second and Mason Dineen rounded up the finishing order in third.
Sunset Speedway Park will have the 360 Sprint in town on Thursday, July 13th for the annual Speedweek Northwest stop. Cars are expected from Oregon, Washington, California, and the Canadian province of British Columbia as well as New Zealand and Australia.
Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, with Racing starting at 6:30. Tickets are $16.00 for Adults, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $13.00, Youth (6-12) $8.00, and Children (5-Under) FREE.
