Gentry And Wegner Get SSP Wins On Thursday Night

Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park would have the 360 Sprints return for their stop of the 2017 Speedweek Northwest on Thursday, July 13th. Two classes would play the role as the support divisions for the evening. They would be the Bridgeport Logistics Street Stocks and 4-Bee’s.
James Baker would jump out in front of the field on the opening start of the Bridgeport Logistic Street Stock main. Lafayette’s Brad Gentry would pass him a few laps later only to have to give it back due to a caution. Gentry again would make it past Baker to obtain the lead, this time for good, on lap six. Gentry blazed the trail for the remainder of the distance to win his first race of the campaign.
In the 4-Bee feature Bob Berg was the car to beat for much of the race. Berg got the lead on the initial green flag and remained there until lap ten. T.J. Wegner would obtain the top spot on lap ten. Wegner would remain there where the checkered flag would drop to win for the first time this season.
Sunset Speedway Park returns to racing on Saturday, July 15th, for the Topless Modified 100. This will be the one and only night you will see the Budweiser IMCA Modifieds run without their roofs on. They will compete for one hundred laps and the winner in the end receives $1000.00. Also on the card is the IMCA Sport Mods, Pure Stocks, and 4-Bee’s.
Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Time Trials begin at 5:30, with Racing kicking off at 6:30. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00.
