Rankine, Martinez, Little, And Maltais Victorious In SSP Open Wheel Frenzy

Banks, Oregon- It would be a full house of cars at Sunset Speedway Park on Saturday, July 22nd. The "Banks Bullring" would host the Open Wheel Frenzy featuring all open wheeled divisions. In addition to the Wingless Sprint Series the 1/4-mile clay oval would also the Northwest Focus Midgets, Dwarf Cars, and both classes of Micro Sprints in attendance.
Ross Rankine would make the long trip from Avon, Indiana to drive for car owners Gaylon and Carla Stewart. The Hoosier State chauffeur would take care of business in the Northwest Focus Midget Series to win with the series for the second time this year.
Ryan Martinez would once again handle the Dwarf Car division. The Portland pilot collected his fourth SSP win of 2017. It would be another big field of cars as both the Pacific Hardtop Racing Association and Northwest Dwarf Cars clubs were both running with one another.
Jeff Little would become the first repeat feature winner in the 600cc Open Micro Sprint class. Little, of Deming, Washington, now has two wins over the course of the season at Sunset. Braden Maltais made it a third trip this year to the winner's circle in the 600cc Restricted Micro Sprints.
Sunset Speedway returns to racing on Saturday, July 29th for 98.7 The Bull 4-Bee Bonanza 60. This is one of the biggest races of the season for the 4-Bee class and will feature them going thirty laps in the normal direction and then thirty laps the opposite way. IMCA Sport Mods, Bridgeport Logistics Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, and New Bees will also be in action.
Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Time Trials begin at 5:30, with Racing kicking off at 6:30. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00.
