SSP Completes Successful Drivers Appreciation Night

Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park would record another wonderful night of racing. Saturday, August 12th, would witness the "Banks Bullring" host the Drivers Appreciation Night. All eight regular classes would fill the card that produced some good car counts. Divisions on hand included the Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, Bridgeport Logistics Street Stocks, IMCA Sport Mods, Pure Stocks, Dwarf Cars, 4-Bees, New Bees, and both classes of 600cc Micro Sprints.
Craig Cassell made his way back to victory lane in the Budweiser IMCA Modified ranks. It would be the second win of the 2017 season for the Albany racer. Rick Graham recorded his second win of the year in the IMCA Sport Mods too.
The Bridgeport Logistics Street Stocks would witness Vancouver, Washington veteran Craig Loomis make his way back to victory lane. Danny O'Neil Jr., also from Vancouver, would obtain his second win of the current campaign in the Pure Stocks.
Shane Youngren, from Tigard, once again bested the Dwarf Cars. It is the second time that Youngren has won at SSP. Ryan Conroy was the first 4-Bee to cross the line in the main event for his second triumph. Taylor Sayre would achieve her second win of the season in the New Bees.
Braden Maltais would once again get the job done in the 600cc Restricted Micros. The young man has accrued four wins in 2017. Jeff Little, out of Deming, Washington, got the win in the 600cc Open Micro Sprints for his third victory.
Sunset Speedway Park will take the weekend off racing but will have the annual Banks Barbecue Truck and Tractor Pulls on Saturday, August 19th, and the Combine Derby on Sunday, the 20th. Admission each day is $13.00 for Adults, Children (6-16) $7.00, and Kids 5 & Under are FREE. The Truck and Tractor Pulls start around 2:00 PM while the Combine Derby gets started at 4:30.
