Travis Koch And Shane Youngren Win Thursday Night Races At SSP

Banks, Oregon- As the Western Sprint Tour once again paid a visit to Sunset Speedway Park two local classes would come out as support on Thursday, July 12th. The 4-Bees and Dwarf Cars were the two in attendance.
Crimson Cody Skies, of Vancouver, Washington, would get out in front early in the 4-Bee main. On lap five William Wolfe, from Portland, made it to the coveted position. Wolfe would get bottled up in lapped traffic and lost the top spot on lap twenty-four to Travis Koch. Koch, of Vancouver, Washington, went on to win his second race of 2018 at SSP.
In the Dwarf Cars Doug Pirtle, form Corbett, paced the field in the first few circuits. Shane Youngren would make it past him on the fourth trip around the speedway. There Youngren, of Tigard, would remain for the balance of the distance for his second triumph of the current campaign.
Sunset Speedway Park returns for racing on Saturday, July 14th for the Topless 100 for the IMCA Modifieds. The Mods will race without their roofs on and will be competing for one-hundred laps around the “Banks Bullring”. Also in action will be IMCA Sport Mods, Pure Stocks, Dwarf Cars, and 4-Bees.
Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Time Trials begin at 5:30, with Racing kicking off at 6:30. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00. A Family Pass (Two Adults and up to four Youths) is offered for $35.00 while Premium Seats are available for $25.00 each. Tickets, apparel, and more can be purchased online at www.pnwdirtracing.com .
