SSP Ready For April 20th Discount Days Opener

Banks, Oregon- After last week’s disappointing rain out things are looking to finally get underway on Saturday, April 20th, at Sunset Speedway Park. The “Banks Bullring” has a full card of racing and will feature a special admission price with $5.00 for one General Admission ticket or $8.00 for two. Classes on the card include the IMCA Sport Mods, Pure Stocks/IMCA Hobby Stocks, Dwarf Cars, 4-Bees, New Bees, and both classes of Micro Sprints.
Kendall Lee bested the Pure Stock ranks despite Tanner Krohling managing to win six times and a new addition will be the teaming up with the IMCA Hobby Stock class. In the 4-Bee division Ryan Conroy had an incredible year with his ten-win championship season. The IMCA Sport Mods will be featured regularly at SSP after only hosting a couple of races last years and will crown a champion for the first time since 2017.
In the Dwarf Cars Shane Youngren won his fourth straight track title despite not winning the most races. That honor went to rising star Jake Tupper who visited the winner’s circle on three occasions. Cutlas Jones topped the New Bees in the points fight while he was tied for most wins with Tori Chandler with four wins each. In the Micro Sprints Allison Johnson was the Restricted champion and tied Macie Logsdon with a pair of victories to each other’s credit while Jeff Little dominated the Open division with six triumphs for his second straight crown.
Keep in mind we are still in the wet season in the Pacific Northwest so it is encouraged to check the track website/Facebook page for weather updates. Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, with Racing kicking off at 6:00. A Family Pass (Two Adults and up to four Youths) is offered for $35.00 while Premium Seats are available for $25.00 each.
