Hallmark, Van Ortwick, And Skies Get June 22nd Wins At SSP; Krohling, McConville, And Zylstra Sweep The Weekend

Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park capped off their doubleheader race weekend on Saturday, June 22nd, with a busy night of racing. Six different classes were in attendance including the Wingless Sprint Series. Also, on the card were Dwarf Cars, IMCA Sport Mods, 4-Bees, and both classes of Micro Sprints.
McMinnville veteran Lance Hallmark took care of business in the Wingless Sprint Series main event. Scappoose driver Jake Van Ortwick got the job done in the Dwarfs to win his second race of the season at SSP this year. Tanner Krohling swept the weekend competition in the IMCA Sport Mods to get his second straight victory.
“Crimson” Cody Skies, out of Vancouver, Washington, earned his first visit to the winner’s circle in the 4-Bee ranks. Dundee pilot Justen McConville repeated success from the previous night to sweep the weekend in the Micro Open division. The same case could be said in the Micro Restricted class as Monroe, Washington youngster Keira Zylstra was once again victorious.
Sunset Speedway Park returns to racing on Wednesday, June 26th, with the return of the IMCA Wild West Modified Shootout. The Street Stocks will play the role as the support division. Ticket prices with $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00. A Family Pass (Two Adults and up to four Youths) is offered for $35.00 while Premium Seats are available for $25.00 each. Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, with Racing kicking off at 6:00.
